coolEveryone's gone! TJ is in LA doing a guest spot at a studio of a former apprentice of his, and all the rest of the crew (Bonnie, Jesse D, Rodney & Skunk) are all in Las Vegas at the big Mario Barth tattoo convention representing Smitty's Place!

a-ok | New Tattoo Laws Current mood:  amused Category: Jobs, Work, Careers It's July and that means more than just the fourth and fireworks and hot weather this year. It means it's exactly 1 year now and counting until all tattoo artists and piercers must be in compliance with the new law. You should see it. It's so thick you would think it's written by Tolstoy or it's the script for Gone with the Wind or something! But no..it's the new Washington State tattoo law. I wonder...how many shops are going to be able to jump through all the hoops to get licensed? With all the insurance,record keeping and "code of conduct" rules we will have to follow, how many will still be here in another year's time? It's going to be interesting that's for sure, we'll be ready though! Will all of you? |

incredulousOK, I've had it! Many inquiries and walk ins promote me to make proclomations again! So....here goes:
1. Fads! I hate them! I don't care what tattoo fad has hit this week..it's all about the art. Period! If what you want just isn't going to look good for all time then we just won't do it. It doesn't matter to us if it costs us a sale that day, our shop reputation as artists first is all that matters, really.
2. Flash! ( You know ,the stuff printed on sheets and displayed in frames on tattoo shop walls, with artwork for you to choose from) Shit! Hellfire and piss! Why be an all custom shop with tattoo artists who can all draw well , to give you (the customer) a unique one of a kind piece of artwork (tattoo) if all you want is to bring in something you found on the internet that looks like what your friend has?....?!! We studied art for YEARS...use that! Be different, it won't kill you, hell your fingerprints and dna are allready unique, why not your spots?
3. We don't care if your a scenester, in a band, or have a cool bike or rod, or have a harem (ok well maybe that would impress us) anyway, who ever you are and whatever you do, when you get tattooed here we believe your a rockstar allready! Everyone is famous. Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame. We treat everyone as being "cool". No Cliques allowed...remember it's all about the art not the canvas wearing it.
